Two days ago, on Sept. 11, I was obviously feeling a little down. While praying that we never forget the horrible tragedy that occurred 13 years ago, I also took the time to read over news stories, speeches and more from that horrid day.
While I didn’t understand what was going on at the time, (Was it just a day off school? Was there a bomb? Why did my mom come pick me up early from school and give me the strongest hug?) now I realize just how horrible it was.
There is so much ugly in this world, and it’s so easy to get bogged down by it. However, another thing that I looked at that day was one of the most beautiful views in my county. Right by my house, a farmer plants sunflowers in his field that stretch for as far as the eye can see.
To the person who decided to plant the flowers, THANK YOU for making thousands of people’s lives just a little bit happier. For all of the ugly here on Planet Earth, there still is so much beauty. Thank God for that.
Cameras (let alone my iPhone camera) cannot capture how beautiful the views are. Check out a few of my iPhone snaps below.
