The fifth-annual CareFirst Fan Challenge starring Adam Jones has come and gone. What started off as a fun way for fans to connect with a player a few years ago turned into a full-on media frenzy this season!
After viewing hundreds of submissions challenging Jones to a “ballpark-themed food cook-off”, MASN and Jones narrowed it down to one winner. Kevin and Elizabeth Irish, owners of The Local Fry in Federal Hill, were declared the winners, and it was time for a fry-off.

Personally, I was PUMPED when Jones selected the Irishes. French fries are my favorite food, and the restaurant’s gourmet fry dishes are second to none. I mean, just check out these bulgogi fries. My mouth is watering.
When it was all said and done, AKA when I finished organizing the entire event and stopped panicking, we had quite the fry-off on our hands! Local media gathered at Dempsey’s Brew Pub & Restaurant (located at Oriole Park) to watch the battle.
He was joined by celebrity teen chef, Bryce Taylor, and Chef Chad Gauss of The Food Market, (which is bomb.)
All together, we had more than 12 different media outlets in attendance, including local TV stations WBFF, WJZ and WMAR.
They all saw Jones take the crown for the third straight year. (And no, the judges weren’t biased at all!)
